Stage 2
The next step in reliability and longevity for critical, heavily loaded gears to prevent failures. This process involves hand deburring the sharp corners off of the gear teeth, which relieves the area where cracks tend to form. Then, gear teeth are shotpeened to reduce the tension leftover from gear cutting and heat treat cycles. This process has proven to extend the life of gears and prevent cracks from forming, resulting in a stronger, longer lasting gearbox.

Full Race Prep! This is the ultimate in reliability and longevity for racers that need to get to the finish line, or for those that simply want the most peace of mind knowing they can push their toy as hard as they want with as low of a chance of failure as possible.
This services includes installing high quality bearings, deburring and shotpeen gears to prevent cracks from forming in the gear teeth, and measuring shaft endplay between the bearings. Shims are then installed to remove the endplay in the shafts and create a small amount of preload on the bearings. This process eliminates shaft movement at operating temperatures when housings expand, keeping gears and shafts in place as you bounce across the rough terrain.
